The Glory Story
Content for the Old Testament.
All of the stories are in chronological order and connect together to make perfect sense.
Creation Adam Eve Noah. The tower of Babel. The life of Abraham & his sons Ishmael & Isaac. Isaac and his twin sons Esau & Jacob. Jacob changed his name to Israel. Israel’s 12 sons in Egypt.
Moses leads the 12 tribes of Israel out of Egypt. Moses and the 12 tribes in the wilderness. Joshua leads the 12 tribes from the wilderness into the Promised Land.
The time of the Judges Gideon, Samson etc. The story of Ruth. Samuel the last judge and first prophet.
The time of the Kings, Saul David & Solomon etc. Solomon builds a temple for the Lord. The time of the prophets, Amos, Hosea, Isaiah, etc.
Solomon’s temple was destroyed and Daniel, Ezekiel and Jeremiah are taken into the 70 year Babylonian captivity.
The 70 year captivity is over. In 520 B.C. Nehemiah rebuilds the walls in Jerusalem, at the urging of Haggai & Zechariah, Zerubbabel rebuilds the temple. The temple was completed on March 12th 515 B.C. and Ezra became the priest.
In the year 479 B.C. the Jewess Esther, became Queen of Persia. During this time Malachi, the last book of the Old Testament was written.
The four hundred year period from Malachi to John the Baptist is known as the silent years. The Temple was in a continual state of dis-repair and the Persian Empire was eventually conquered by the Greeks, led by Alexander the Great 334 years before Christ.
Eventually the Romans conquered the Greeks and sixty-three years before the Messiah, the Roman general Pompey the Great, took control of Jerusalem. So it was that the whole land of Israel, became part of the Roman Empire, just as Daniel had prophesied.
Under Herod 19 years before Christ, the rebuilding of the third temple began.
The last Old Testament prophet was John the Baptiser, his message was;
“Prepare the way for the Lord.”
The stories are set out in around 10 minute segments and the DVD has a running time of approximately 1 hour 20 minutes.
