SAMSON
PICTURE 01
As soon as Gideon died, the children of Israel started to worship the heathen god Baal.
PICTURE 02
They did evil in the sight of the Lord
PICTURE 03
And became slaves to the Philistines.
PICTURE 04
An angel appeared to a woman and said, “You shall bear a son and he shall be set apart for God, a razor shall never touch his hair.”
PICTURE 05
The child was born and they named him Samson.
PICTURE 06
Samson grew to be a man and one day walking to the city, a lion attacked him.
PICTURE 07
The Spirit of the Lord came upon Samson and he tore the lion apart.
PICTURE 08
Samson wanted to take a Philistine to be his wife.
PICTURE 09
Travelling home, he ate some honey after finding a swarm of bees nesting in the lion’s carcass.
PICTURE 10
At his wedding feast Samson challenged the Philistines, “Whoever answers this riddle, I will give him thirty suits of clothes.
PICTURE 11
“Out of the eater came forth meat, and out of the strong, came forth sweetness.”
PICTURE 12
Unless Samson’s wife told the Philistines the answer to the riddle, both she and her father, were in grave danger.
PICTURE 13
So she pleaded with Samson, until he reluctantly gave her the answer.
PICTURE 14
Then she told the Philistines, they said to Samson;
PICTURE 15
“What is sweeter than honey and stronger than a lion?”
PICTURE 16
The spirit of the Lord came upon Samson; and he killed thirty Philistines and gave their clothes to the young men.

Then he caught foxes and set fire to the Philistine’s crops.
PICTURE 18
In retaliation, the Philistines burnt Samson’s wife and her father.
PICTURE 19
So Samson slaughtered the young men and went to live alone on a mountain.
PICTURE 20
When the Philistines began persecuting the children of Israel.
PICTURE 21
Samson agreed that they could arrest him and hand him over to the enemy.
PICTURE 22
When Samson was in the hands of the Philistines, he broke free and killed a thousand men with the jawbone of a donkey.

Samson judged Israel for twenty years in the days of the Philistines.
PICTURE 24
In Gazza, the people planned to capture Samson.
PICTURE 25
When he came out of a prostitutes house.
PICTURE 26
But when Samson found the city gates locked; he just ripped them down.
PICTURE 27
Then he carried them to the top of the hill.
PICTURE 28
It came to pass that Samson fell in love with a Philistine, named Delilah.
PICTURE 29
“If you find out where Samson’s strength lies, we will give you eleven hundred pieces of silver.”
PICTURE 30
“Samson please tell me where your great strength lies.” Samson replied;
PICTURE 31
“Tell them to bind me with seven bowstrings, then I will become weak like any man.”
PICTURE 32
With the Philistines hiding, Delilah bound Samson then shouted “Samson! The Philistines are upon you,”

But Samson broke the bowstrings with ease.
PICTURE 34
“Samson you have mocked me and told me lies.” Samson replied;
PICTURE 35
“If they bind me with new ropes, then I shall become weak like any man.” But the same event took place, and h broke free.
PICTURE 36
Next she bound him with seven locks of his hair and he made a fool of her a third time.
PICTURE 37
“Samson how can you say that you love me, when you treat me like a fool.”
PICTURE 38
“If my hair is cut in disobedience to God, then my strength shall leave me.”
PICTURE 39
So Delilah put him to sleep and the Philistines cut his hair, then Delilah shouted;
PICTURE 40
“Samson! The Philistines are upon you.” But Samson’s strength had gone.
PICTURE 41
The Philistines took out Samson’s eyes and he became a grinder in the prison house.
PICTURE 42
When the Philistines got drunk, they sent for Samson and mocked him.
PICTURE 43
Samson rested on the main temple supports.
PICTURE 44
“O Lord God I pray strengthen me, that I might take vengeance on the Philistines for mine eyes.”

Then he pushed with all his might, and the pillars crumbled before his touch.

The temple fell on about three thousand Philistines. So Samson killed more people at his death, than he killed throghout his life.
RUTH
PICTURE 01
During the time of the Judges there was a famine in Israel, Naomi an Israelite, went to Moab where her husband and two sons died.
PICTURE 02
Naomi, was comforted by her two widowed daughter-in-laws, Ruth and Oprah, they were not Israelites, but had asked to stay with Naomi.
PICTURE 03
“No my daughters. I am too old to have another husband and more sons for you to marry.”
PICTURE 04
Naomi kissed them both.
PICTURE 05
Orpah departed but Ruth argued, “Wherever you go, I will go. Your people will be my people and your God my God.”
PICTURE 06
So they journeyed together from Moab Bethlehem.
PICTURE 07
Naomi told her friends, “When I left I was full, but I have returned empty and bitter.”
PICTURE 08
Naomi had a relative called Boaz, who was a wealthy land owner, Ruth asked Naomi.

“Will they let me collect the dropped grain?”
PICTURE 10
So Ruth asked for permission, which the harvesters gladly gave.
PICTURE 11
Ruth was collecting the grain, in a field that belonged to Boaz.
PICTURE 12
Boaz asked his servant “Who is that girl?” The servant replied;
PICTURE 13
“She is the girl that came back with Naomi.” So Boaz approached Ruth and said;
PICTURE 14
“Stay here by the ladies in my field and follow as they reap.”
PICTURE 15
Ruth knelt down, “Sir, why have I found grace with you?” Boaz answered;
PICTURE 16
“You have taken care of Naomi. Now the Lord God of Israel bless you.”
PICTURE 17
“Let some grain fall on the ground for Ruth to collect.”
PICTURE 18
Naomi was delighted, when Ruth told her that she had gleaned in the field that belonged to Boaz.
PICTURE 19
So all through the harvest, Ruth worked with the young women, Naomi said to Ruth;
PICTURE 20
“Tonight watch where Boaz goes to sleep and lie down at his feet.”
PICTURE 21
“By this custom you are telling Boaz that you desire to be his wife.”
PICTURE 22
Boaz woke and said, “The closest relative to your dead husband is responsible to marry you. I know a relative that is closer than I.”
PICTURE 23
So Ruth lay at the feet of Boaz. When they got up, Boaz said;
PICTURE 24
“Don’t let anyone know that you came and slept at my feet.” Then he gave Ruth a generous portion of barley.
PICTURE 25
Ruth returned to the city and told Naomi what had happened.
PICTURE 26
That morning Boaz and met the relative he had mentioned to Ruth.
PICTURE 27
“Naomi has land to sell which belonged to her dead husband and sons.
PICTURE 28
You are the nearest relative, so if you wish to buy it then do so. If not then I, Boaz, am next in line.”
PICTURE 29
“Yes I will buy it.” said the relative, Boaz replied;
PICTURE 30
“According to our customs if you buy the field, you must marry the dead man’s widow.”
PICTURE 31
“I can’t do that; it would spoil my inheritance. You buy the land and marry Ruth.”
PICTURE 32
The relative giving up his right to buy, took off his sandal and gave it to Boaz.
PICTURE 33
Boaz immediately went to tell Ruth the good news.
PICTURE 34
He explained the custom of the sandal and declared that he now owned the land.
PICTURE 35
So Boaz took Ruth to be his wife.
PICTURE 36
Naomi was delighted when she heard the news.
PICTURE 37
And in due time the Lord blessed them with a son.
PICTURE 38
Naomi cradled her grandson with a heart full of love. The women said to Naomi;
PICTURE 39
“Ruth is better to you than seven sons. May your grandson restore your life, and nourish you in your old age”.
PICTURE 40
Ruth’s son was called Obed,. Obed was to have a son called Jesse and Jesse was to have a son called David. So Naomi’s third generation of grandsons was none other than King David.
