David’s actions displeased the Lord, but the Lord loved Solomon.

Years later when David was an old man, another of his son’s Adonijah, exalted himself.
PICTURE 03
The prophet Nathan, told Bathsheba that Adonijah had made himself King.
PICTURE 04
Bathsheba immediately went to David, “You swore before God that Solomon shall reign as king.”
PICTURE 05
So King David demanded, “Anoint Solomon King over Israel.”
PICTURE 06
And  Solomon rode King David’s mule, for all the people to see.
PICTURE 07
Then the priest anointed Solomon.
PICTURE 08
The people rejoiced, “Long live King Solomon.”
PICTURE 09
For a long time, David had dreamt of building a temple for the Lord.
PICTURE 10
When David was dying, he called Solomon and charged him to build the temple.
PICTURE 11
After forty years as king, David died.
PICTURE 12
The first thing Solomon did was to have his brother executed.
PICTURE 13
Solomon made a treaty with the king of Egypt, through marriage to his daughter.
PICTURE 14
One night the Lord appeared to Solomon, “Ask whatever you want and I shall give it to you.” Solomon answered,

 “Give to your servant wisdom to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil.”
PICTURE 16
The Lord replied, “Because you have not asked for long life, riches or the death of your enemies, I have done according to your word.”

Two women had given birth, but one of the babies had died and they both claimed the living child as their own. King Solomon gave the following judgement;

 “Cut the child in two, and give the women half each.”
“King give her the living child, but please don’t kill it.”

“She’s  the mother, give her the child,.”
PICTURE 20
Solomon was king over all of Israel; and he reigned in great prosperity.

He wrote three thousand proverbs and one thousand and five songs.
PICTURE 22
Wisemen and kings who had heard of his wisdom, came from all over the earth to listen to him.
PICTURE 23
So it was that Solomon began to prepare for the building of the temple.
PICTURE 24
And it came to pass in the fourth year of his reign, the construction began.
PICTURE 25
The building was magnificent, with gold floors, walls and ceilings.
PICTURE 26
In the October  959 years before Christ, Solomon completed the temple.

When the Ark of the Covenant was bought in, a cloud of glory filled the whole building.

King Solomon also built a fleet of ships.
PICTURE 29
The Queen of Sheeba visited Solomon to test his wisdom.
PICTURE 30
She was breathless, and said to the king, “What I heard concerning your wisdom and prosperity, is certainly true.”

Solomon had seven hundred wives and three hundred mistresses, many of whom were foreign.

But he did evil in the sight of the Lord, when he built an altar to the foreign gods, The Lord said;

“I will take the kingdom from you.”
PICTURE 34
“You shall be left with only one tribe, for the sake of David your father.”
PICTURE 35
At this time the prophet of God, tore his robe into twelve pieces saying;
PICTURE 36
“Thus says the Lord, I will tear the kingdom from Solomon and give ten tribes away.”
PICTURE 37
In the Bible Solomon wrote the book of Proverbs, The Song of Songs, otherwise called The Song of Solomon, and Ecclesiastes or otherwise called The Preacher.

Solomon reigned over Israel for forty years and 930 years before Christ, Solomon died.
